Colorado Mountain Wedding Inspiration with Carrie Johnson Photography: Part One

A few months ago we had the opportunity to create a Colorado Mountain inspired wedding shoot with Carrie ofCarrie Johnson Photography. Carrie really captured the space around Vista View Events, including our apple orchard, and blew us away with her final photos. This inspirational shoot was meant to be on the 'traditional' side complete with pink flowers, something blue and of course the quintessential white dress. It was so fun for Katie and I to see what the property is really capable of when it comes to wedding shoots. We're basically beside ourselves with excitement for our first wedding (or styled shoot!) in the actual venue. As we slowly say farewell to summer we thought you'd enjoy this vibrant inspiration from the heart of wedding season (hello June!). We'll be back tomorrow with Part Two of our photoshoot that features a natural, bohemian style complete with this dress from Rent the Runway and succulents (you can never have too many of those!).

where to buy wedding Flowers to diy your centerpieces

Living in a really small town means we have to get creative when it comes to sourcing materials and products for Vista View Events. We recently did our first styled shoot (more on that soon!) and I searched locally for a place to get a large quantity and variety of specific flowers I had in mind. This experience got me thinking that  if I’m having this issue as a vendor then brides who live in small towns like I do, who want to DIY their wedding flowers, could be running into the same problem. If that’s you, here are a few places to try when sourcing your wedding flowers.

FOUR PLACES YOU CAN CREATE YOUR WEDDING WEBSITE

Have you set up your wedding website for the big day? Are you even going to use a wedding website? I personally LOVE wedding websites as a bride and as a guest. A friend of mine is getting married in June and I was able to RSVP on her website and view her entire gift registry all on her wedding website. I hate paper (except my coveted Day Designer which I will never give up) so being able to do all of this digitally is perfect for me. There’s more than a few options to choose from when it comes to creating your wedding website so we’ve rounded up some of our favorites here.

8 TOOLS YOU CAN USE TO ORGANIZE AND PLAN YOUR WEDDING

Planning your wedding is probably taking way more effort than you initially thought. Stop what you're doing right now and read this post. This is a short list of 8 wedding planners and apps you can use to help organize your wedding. Most of these tools can be used outside of wedding planning which is why I like them. It allows you to completely customize your planning experience while not lugging around a 5 inch thick, three-ring binder. (Someone writing this post may have done that...).

How to get your bridesmaids excited about your wedding

Getting your bridesmaid “excited” about your wedding may seem counterintuitive. Who wouldn’t be excited about a huge party celebrating their best friend/sister/cousin/etc? Of course your bestie is excited, but being a bridesmaid isn’t always easy. She has to buy a new dress, shoes and more. She’ll likely help organize parties, you and in some cases, act as a therapist when you just need to vent, all while keeping a smile on her face. You’re the bride, you have a lot to do before the big day. Checking in with your bridesmaid may seem like just another thing to on your To Do List. That being said, if you take intentional steps to show your girlfriend how much you appreciate her and do a few small things to fill her tank, it will pay off big time. Here’s five easy ways to get (and keep) your bridesmaid excited about your wedding.
